    BLACKBERRY (Sang Shen) The white mulberry is a fruit tree native to China that is widely cultivated for its leaves, which are used to feed silkworms - but also for its berries, which are highly prized by gourmets. TCM: dried blackberries are used to relieve fatigue (tonic effect): they nourish the Yin, tone the Blood, strengthen the Liver and tone the Kidneys. Helps the body to rid itself of toxins. Cosmetics: anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties, provided by the many nutrients it contains: iron, vitamin C, flavonoids and polysaccharides (carbohydrates).

    LIQUORICE ROOT (Gan Cao) Grown in north-west China, liquorice root is known the world over for its mild, sweet flavour and its use as a natural food ingredient. TCM: invigorates Qi, supports natural defences and contributes to respiratory comfort. Cosmetics: natural saponin gives liquorice its anti-inflammatory properties. Other active ingredients are particularly interesting for mature skin care: glabridine, which lightens the skin and acts as an antioxidant, and licoricidin, which blocks UVA-induced photo-ageing by trapping free radicals.

    HYALURONIC ACID Considered to be the most powerful moisturising molecule known to date. It acts like a small sponge capable of retaining almost a thousand times its weight in water. Hyaluronic acid is responsible for skin's shine, hydration and plumpness. It reduces wrinkles, stabilises skin structure (thickening of the dermis) and helps smooth skin texture. We have selected an active ingredient with a very low molecular weight, making it even more effective in depth. It also activates collagen synthesis, responsible for skin tone.
